Boot Repair es una aplicación con interfase gráfica, que nos ayuda a resolver los problemas que podemos llegar a tener a la hora de iniciar alguno de los sistemas operativos que tengamos instalados en nuestra PC.
Se trata de un programa el cual, para usarlo, debemos iniciar mínimamente el modo gráfico de Ubuntu, pero luego, nos resultará útil para iniciar otros SOs.
Para instalarlo, debemos tipear en una terminal:
[tip]sudo add-apt-repository ppa:yannubuntu/boot-repair
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install boot-repair-ubuntu[/tip]
Una vez instalado, lanzamos el programa. Él mismo nos permitirá seleccionar el SO que se iniciará de manera predeterminada; purgar el GRUB manualmente y/o mover el mismo a otra partición.
Una vez realizados los cambios, aparecerá un cuadro confirmando que los mismos se realizaron satisfactoriamente. Para que los mismos hagan efecto, necesitamos reiniciar nuestro equipo.

Inicias desde un dispositivo USB con Ubuntu y resuelves el problema.

El Reparador-de-Arranque (Boot-Repair) ha sido mejorado mucho recientemente, esta aun mas sencillo y tiene mas opciones !
Puede añadir opciones de kernel al GRUB, restaurar un bootsector genérico para restaurar acceso directo al Windows (XP, Vista, Seven), crear un informe Boot-Info en 1 clic, y mucho mas ! (RAID, LVM…)
(y ahora solo se necesita : sudo apt-get install boot-repair )
Y para su comodidad, existe un disco Ubuntu que ya tiene pre-instalado Boot-Repair en español : Ubuntu Secured ( https://sourceforge.net/p/ubuntu-secured/home/Home/ )
